Trays create a procedural revolution in Italy
Watch: Umberto Parini hospital reports more efficient teamwork and cost reduction
Medical research leader Umberto Parini Regional Hospital has relied on Mölnlycke® products since 2014, enabling a procedural revolution for surgical teams and an economic turnaround for the administration. In 2017, they ran a trial of the Mölnlycke Procedure tray for laparoscopic cholecystectomy to evaluate the economic benefits of implementing this new surgical approach.
Dr. Paolo Millo, Head of the Surgery facility, explains how the success of the trial has led to the expanded use of the procedural sets. ‘The Mölnlycke Procedure trays we currently use in our units were designed for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Given the excellent results and the overall positive feedback, we decided to extend the use of this set to other types of operations, and we have now developed kits dedicated to bariatric surgery,’ he says. ‘The introduction of the Mölnlycke Procedure trays has made operating theatre activities more fluid and helped to create a better working environment on every level.’
